This policy describes the main processing carried out by the platform. Feature-specific notices may provide additional detail at the point where information is collected.

1. About this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how BEGUIGO collects, uses, stores, shares and protects personal information when you create or use an account, purchase Credits or VIP benefits, submit a Challenge Request, participate in Challenges, use BEGUIGO features or contact us.

BEGUIGO is intended for adults aged 18 or over. This Policy should be read together with the Terms & Conditions and the rules or notices shown for particular Challenges and features.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use BEGUIGO, we may process account and profile information; contact details; country and age or identity-verification information; order, payment-status, Credits, Wallet and VIP records; Challenge Requests; bids and Challenge Actions; Skills, Short Questions and qualification results; BPS, Smartness and other derived scores or profiles; referrals; support messages; notification preferences; and technical, security and audit records.

We may also receive information from service providers that help us deliver payments, communications, hosting, security, verification or other platform functions. We aim to collect only information that is relevant to the purpose for which it is used.

3. Challenge and participation data

BEGUIGO records information needed to operate and validate Challenges, including requests to participate, qualification status, bids, bid states, Challenge Actions, applicable costs, eligibility and access decisions, timestamps, results and related audit records.

We use this information to provide the Challenge service, apply the published rules, calculate and validate results, resolve disputes, prevent abuse and maintain an auditable record of participation. A current bid state or provisional result may change while a Challenge remains active or during an applicable After-Challenge validation period.

4. BPS, Smartness, Cognitive Profile and profiling

BEGUIGO may derive scores, classifications, profiles or recommendations from account activity, qualification activity, Challenge participation and other relevant platform events. This can include BPS, Smartness, Cognitive Profile information and related eligibility or decision-support signals.

These systems may influence access to features, qualification pathways, information shown to you or other configured platform outcomes. Where BEGUIGO makes a solely automated decision that has a legal or similarly significant effect and applicable data-protection law requires safeguards, we will provide the information and safeguards required by law, which may include an opportunity to make representations, obtain human intervention and contest the decision.

Strategy Assistant, Pulse and similar tools may use or derive information from your BEGUIGO activity to provide decision support. Their outputs do not guarantee a Challenge result.

5. Age and identity verification

BEGUIGO is an adults-only platform. We may ask for information or evidence to establish that you are at least 18, verify identity, confirm account ownership, protect a prize or cashout, or investigate an integrity or security concern.

We aim to use a proportionate verification method and minimise the information retained. Where practical, a verification result or reference may be sufficient instead of retaining a full identity document. Information collected specifically for age or identity verification will not be repurposed incompatibly with that verification purpose.

6. Orders, payments, Credits, Wallet and VIP

We process order and transaction information to supply Credits, VIP benefits and other eligible products, administer subscriptions or renewals, maintain Wallet records, process refunds or corrections, provide customer support and meet accounting, tax, fraud-prevention and legal obligations.

Payment credentials may be processed by the payment provider used at checkout. BEGUIGO should not be understood to store full payment-card credentials merely because an order or payment-status record appears in your account.

7. Why we use information and our lawful bases

We process personal information only where we have an appropriate lawful basis. Depending on the purpose, this may include performing or taking steps connected with our contract with you; complying with a legal obligation; pursuing legitimate interests such as operating, securing, improving and protecting BEGUIGO and its Challenges where those interests are not overridden by your rights; or consent where consent is the appropriate basis.

Different purposes can rely on different lawful bases. Where we rely on legitimate interests, we consider necessity, proportionality and the impact on users. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent for future processing, although withdrawal does not make earlier lawful processing unlawful.

8. Fraud prevention, security and Challenge integrity

We may analyse and correlate relevant account, Challenge, transaction, device, technical and audit information to detect or investigate multiple accounts, account sharing, collusion, manipulation, prohibited automation, circumvention, payment abuse, security incidents, exploitation of system errors and other breaches of the Terms or Challenge rules.

Where reasonably necessary, BEGUIGO may restrict functionality while an integrity or security review is carried out. We seek to use proportionate signals and retain evidence needed to explain, review or defend material enforcement decisions.

9. Service communications, notifications and marketing

We use contact details and notification preferences to send service communications such as account, security, Challenge, transaction, qualification, Wallet, support and other operational messages. Some service messages may be necessary to provide or protect the service and are not marketing.

Where we send marketing communications, we will use an appropriate lawful basis and provide the controls required by applicable law. You can manage available communication preferences or use an unsubscribe mechanism where one applies.

10. Cookies, local storage and similar technologies

BEGUIGO may use cookies, browser storage and similar technologies that are necessary for login, security, preferences, cart or checkout operation and other requested functionality. Optional analytics, personalisation or marketing technologies should be used only in accordance with applicable consent and privacy requirements.

Where a separate Cookie Policy or consent interface is provided, it contains additional information about the technologies currently in use and the choices available to you.

11. Who we share information with

We may disclose personal information to processors and service providers that support hosting, infrastructure, payments, email or messaging, age or identity verification, security, analytics, customer support and other functions necessary to operate BEGUIGO. We may also disclose information to professional advisers, insurers, auditors, courts, regulators, law-enforcement bodies or other parties where disclosure is required or permitted by law or reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal rights.

Partners, retailers, prize suppliers or fulfilment providers receive personal information only where it is necessary for the relevant relationship, Challenge, prize or service and subject to appropriate controls. We do not treat the sale of personal information as part of the BEGUIGO business model.

12. International transfers

Some suppliers or recipients may process personal information outside the United Kingdom. Where UK data-protection law restricts an international transfer, BEGUIGO will use an available lawful transfer mechanism and appropriate safeguards, taking account of the destination, recipient and nature of the processing.

13. How long we keep information

We retain personal information for no longer than reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, taking account of account status, Challenge and prize validation, contractual requirements, fraud and security risks, disputes, limitation periods and accounting, tax or other legal obligations.

Different records can therefore have different retention periods. Closed-Challenge, Wallet, transaction, qualification, audit and enforcement records may need to be retained after an account becomes inactive where they remain necessary to preserve Challenge integrity, financial records, legal rights or regulatory accountability. Information that no longer needs to identify a person may be deleted or anonymised where appropriate.

14. Closed Challenges, winners and audit records

After a Challenge closes, BEGUIGO may retain and review the records needed for After-Challenge validation, winner confirmation, prize fulfilment, complaints, fraud prevention and the integrity of historical results.

Where Challenge results or winner information are displayed publicly, BEGUIGO should use a privacy-conscious identifier or limited information where practical and should not expose unrelated personal information merely because a user has won or participated.

15. Analytics, experiments and service improvement

BEGUIGO may analyse how features are used, evaluate experiments or variants, measure performance and reliability, and use aggregated statistics to improve the platform, Challenges, qualification, safety and user experience.

Where information is genuinely anonymised so that individuals are no longer identifiable, it is not personal information. Pseudonymised information remains personal information where it can still be linked back to an identifiable person using additional information.

16. Your data-protection rights

Subject to the conditions and exemptions in applicable law, you may have rights to obtain information about and access your personal information; correct inaccurate information; request erasure; restrict processing; object to certain processing; receive qualifying information in a portable format; and withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.

You may also have rights and safeguards in relation to qualifying solely automated significant decisions. Exercising a right does not necessarily require BEGUIGO to erase records that we must or are entitled to retain for legal obligations, fraud prevention, Challenge integrity, disputes or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.

We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a data-rights request so that personal information is not disclosed or changed for the wrong person.

17. Privacy questions and complaints

If you have a privacy question, concern or data-rights request, contact BEGUIGO Support and identify the request as privacy or data protection where possible. We will route the request for appropriate review.

You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office where it has jurisdiction. Contacting BEGUIGO first may allow us to resolve the issue quickly, but it does not remove your right to contact the regulator.

18. Security

BEGUIGO uses technical and organisational measures intended to protect personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, loss or misuse. Measures can include access controls, authentication, audit records, integrity controls, backups and security monitoring appropriate to the system and risk.

No online service can guarantee absolute security. Users must also protect their credentials and promptly report suspected account compromise or security problems.

19. Adults-only service and children

BEGUIGO is not intended for people under 18. If we reasonably believe that an account belongs to a person under 18, we may restrict the account and request proportionate age verification. If the person is not eligible to use BEGUIGO, we may close or restrict the account and handle associated personal information in accordance with applicable law and the need to preserve relevant security, transaction or audit records.

20. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when BEGUIGO, our processing activities or applicable law changes. The managed Privacy Policy page displays its effective date and version. Where a change is material and applicable law requires additional notice or consent, we will provide it in an appropriate way.

21. Contacting BEGUIGO about privacy

Use the BEGUIGO contact or support channels for privacy questions and data-rights requests. Please do not send identity documents or other sensitive information unless BEGUIGO has specifically requested them through an appropriate verification or support process.
